Getting Married in One of our Churches
Marrying in church is a personal, meaningful and spiritual experience. Churches are special and unique places to get married in – the prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.
We believe that inviting God to be part of your marriage is the best foundation for your life together.
Why get married in Church?
A church is so much more than simply a venue for your wedding. Unique and special things become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond:-
A church wedding will add a spiritual dimension to your marriage. The ceremony includes God and looks to him for help and guidance. God’s blessing is the main difference between a Church wedding and a wedding in a different venue. You are welcome to explore getting married in Church whatever your beliefs.
You can make amazing vows, or promises, in a church. You can only make vows this big in a church. These vows, made in public, will help you to stay together and grow together. God and our church communities are there for you to help you keep your vows.
Our Church buildings offer a beautiful setting for your wedding.
Church weddings are also an affordable choice, with reasonable fees that cover the use of the building, the minister and any other people required. Money should never be a barrier to having a wedding in our churches, so please mention to the vicar if you are concerned about money. You can find more information about fees in the leaflet below.
The Vicar has a very particular role to play in your wedding. They can blend ancient tradition and modern experience to reflect your story. Because of the relationship with the Vicar, your wedding can be made personal, memorable, meaningful and beautiful.
You can be involved in making choices about your ceremony – including music, hymns and readings. The vicar will talk you through all the options available to make your wedding meaningful to you.
And after your wedding, we hope you’ll see that a church is more than simply a wedding venue.
We’ll always be here for you.
